At the Samson press day the other week I had the chance to chat with Mark from AMT and we surprised each other how long ago we both had been Monster Truck fans .
Let me share some of those Old Days ...

These photos are of a friend of mine , Gary Moedt from Brisbane who decided he would start building a Monster Truck a long time ago . He ran it at a few shows and had alot of plans to build better and bigger trucks ,until his death on the highway travelling to a Monster Truck show at Chinchilla .

Anyway the other point of interest , is that these shots were taken at a show at Mango Hill , north of Brisbane in a open paddock with a few other attractions .
And guess what ????
It was the first ever Monster Truck show for the promoter ....
A guy called Clive Featherby !!!! :o ( I can hear all of you in shock )

Enjoy ... ( and YES , I was the photographer on the day )

Darryl. :)

Daz that is awesome stuff right there!

And what a small world that it was Clive's first show of that kind. Unbelievable! That looks like it was taken way back in the 80's????

Hey Guys ,
I have found some more old pics ; this time from Toowoomba many years ago .
Would you believe both Big Foot AND Grave Digger were on the same tour .
See Ya ,
Darryl.

This shot of Grave Digger shows it is IV ( number 4 ) .
What number are they up to now !
Note also the leaf springs and the basic diff set up .
If only I had jumped in then as a business partner with Grave Digger ...mmmm.....

Great photos Darryl!

Those pictures would stem from the 1991 Monster Truck Challenge tour. The tour consisted of Dan Runte in Bigfoot, Lyle Hancock in Grave Digger and Pablo Huffaker in Jus' Show-N-Off.

Hey Mark,
I thought you would sniff out the old photos here before long
How have you been anyway ?
Thanks for the info on the event ; I really couldn't remember .
And just to wrap up that event ; here are the rest of the trucks there that day .
( although there were also two tanks there too if I vaguely remember ; was it the train and the pink Blazer ??)
See Ya ,
Darryl.

Yeah Darryl, the two tanks in attendance were Orange Blossom Special driven by Jim Harbuck and Daddy's Girl driven by Paula Harbuck. There was also the transformer Beastron.
