Geez Daz, you scared of a little rain mate?

My parents in law are currently braving it out at the Sydney Football Stadium for the Military Tattoo thing!!

When I saw this thread I thought we were gonna get live updates from you or something!! You disappoint me sir.

Anywhoo, I'm sure Chris will fill us in, or even Matt, I think he was planning on attending.

Whoa ... back up Damo.
I think you will find that Chris and myself aren't there because we were told not to come .
And I'm ok with that .
That's entirely up to Clive whether he wants us there or not .
But I am keen to find out whether the guys had some luck on their side and got a show in and how the trucks went .
See ya ,
Darryl.

Haha darryl i'm just riling u up buddy :P

i didn't know chris didn't go either, but i just noticed he was playing facebook last night, so i that was weird.

Looks like the show did happen though, Corey posted he came second in freestyle in avenger, the rain did stop at some point apparently.

Sounded a bit like what happened in canberra, wonder how badly it hurt the crowds? especially with them getting in all that extra seating.

Well Chris did end up heading to Newcastle on Saturday morning. It rained all the way there, but the clouds parted and the sun came out not long after I arrived, only to come back over a little later in the afternoon.

The crowd was down a little from last year, how ever it was alot better than expected.

Here is the line up.

Raptors Rampage - Barry Gaunt
Avenger - Corey Clark
TAZ - Jaye Featherby
Outback Thunda II - Troy Garsea ( I don't think thats how his last name is spelt)
Scooby Doo - Billy Featherby
Samson - Clive Featherby

The field was set up with the usual car stacks down each side of the grounds, and small van stack in the center.

The trucks each performed their hello jumps with out any troubles, except for Scooby Doo who stalled out just inside the field. The problem was fixed easily and after Samson did his run, Scooby was able to continue.

The format was changed slightly from the Sky wheelie contest to 80 seconds of freestyle for each truck.

I will post again tonight as to how freestyle went. I will have the correct scores then.

Cool, that's good the crowd was only down a little bit. Considering the weather, it could have been a lot worse, I was wondering how it affected numbers.

TAZ was the first out for freestyle and immediately attacked the bus stack and pulling off a good sky wheelie. With the wet and slippery grass Jaye was not driving as well as he has been, but still managed to get some good jumps in scoring a 14 from the two judges.

Avenger came out and attacked the car stacks, getting some big jumps in, mainly distance. None of the trucks really able to get the sky wheelies going, but Carey really revved up the crowd with his driving skills. Score of 17 holding the lead and giving the Aussie drivers some thing to aim for.

Raptors Rampage hit the field, a truck that Barry had only driven around to move from place to place, never actually jumping the truck. Raptors made some good jumps. Scoring equal to TAZ with 14.

Outback Thunda II headed out for a slow run. Troy taking his time to hit the car stacks, not keeping the momentum up. Scoring the lowest score of the night of 12.

Scooby Doo with Billy behind the wheel trying to get the crowd going had a good run with some nice jumps, however not getting the distance of Avanger, but adding a few donuts to score 15.

Clive came out in Samson, carving up the field. Showing his driving ability, getting some massive distances and almost pulling off a slap wheelie off the end of the car stack, in a different venue I am sure he would have gotten the front right back up there. THis run had the crowd screaming for more. The van stack was in his sights several times getting some nice air. Taking the freestyle out with a score of 19.

The show was pushed through to beat the forecast rain later in the night, the action kept on coming with out many breaks at all.

Thanks for the run down Chris .

That's two events in a row now that Clive has seemed to enjoy himself in Samson .
I wonder if you'll get him out of it from now on
Start the printer for the SP World finals III ; " Clive Featherby in Samson " .

Darryl.
